Rich's Bio

A common question Rich gets asked, by his fans is, "How old were you when you started playing guitar?" His answer, "For a very long time." Rich has been playing guitar since he was 10 years old, and started playing in a band when he was 14. In the 90's Rich performed in a touring band called The Howlies...playing on the East Coast supporting many national acts. He notably shared the stage with bands such as Hootie & the Blowfish, The Hooters, Tommy Conwell, Cracker, Drivin and Cryin, Too Much Joy, Monks of Doom, The Mighty Lemon Drops, Cavedogs, Waxing Poetic, Johnny Quest, Jr., and Cline & the Recliners. For most of the 2000 decade, he performed with the party rock dance band, The Jokers, In 2015 Rich formed a power trio cover band called The Johanssens, which won two 2018 Battle of the Bands awards in DC, In November 2018, Rich's band the Johanssens, also made his appearance as an opening act for headliner John Fogerty. Playing guitar isn't Rich's only musical talent, he fronts the local acoustic trio Lost and Found with his own smooth vocal style reminiscent of the Eagle's front man, Don Henley.
